Hoya Compacta
Popular name Angel rope
The plant is named Krølbladet Voksblomst in Danish. The sculptural character of this plant is the very reason it is so popular among Danish flower specialists. The plant originates from East Asia and Australia where it grows wild. In recent centuries, however, it has become a popular window plant in Europe. Hoya Compacta is especially suited for binding on trelliswork or as a decorative plant in a glass pot.
At Gartneriet Offer Madsen A/S, we raise the plant from a cutting into a finished product to ensure superior quality. The production time for a medium-size hoya product is about one year.
Hoya Compacta is a very robust plant requiring minimal care. If allowed to dry out, the plant will even acknowledge this by bearing beautiful fragrant flowers.
The plant flourishes in lots of light. Do not put it in a window with direct sunlight in the summer months, however. It is not unusual for a Hoya Compacta to live for 25 years.
