Eco-friendly production

At Gartneriet Offer Madsen, we want to put the spotlight on environmental impact in our selection of production methods, energy sources, disease and pest control, etc., in order to avoid or minimise the impact on the environment.

Some of the upshots of this include the fact we sort all waste, that the discharge of fertilizers and pesticides is reduced to an absolute minimum and that our choice of heating methods gives maximum consideration to environmental impact. In fact we have from 2005-2007 reduced our heat consumption with 26%. We use allso biological pest control to prevent unwanted animals.

In order to be able to document these efforts, we participate in the international environment programme MPS (Milieu Programma Sierteelt), which involves recording and classifying operational factors that impact the environment. Here, we are categorised as Class A, which is the best category. Link to certificate.

Quality and production management

Producing high-quality, living plants demands specialist skills. But it takes more than specialist skills to do it every time. When we are dealing with living plants, where growth and quality are affected by many different factors, this requires extremely detailed quality management and production management.
